Joseph Riley

Joseph (Joe) Riley grew up in Greensboro and attends GTCC. In high school and college his experiences were surrounded by athletics and competition. Being able to continue that competitiveness in CrossFit made staying fit fun and goal oriented. Joe has been a Level 1 CrossFit trainer for two years and coached at another affiliate before joining CrossFit Versatile. Joe is also Gymnastic Certified.
Joe was a 2014 Regionals Team Athlete.  He loves being able to see members progress and get better. Many members are hesitant when they begin and growing their confidence in their fitness level is very rewarding. His advice for someone new would be to learn as much as you can and never be afraid to ask questions. Some of his favorite moments are when a member comes up to him and tells him that they never thought they would be able to perform a movement that he helped them learn. Never let the mind limit the body.

Melaney Martin

Melaney Martin grew up in Greensboro and moved back here in 2013 after graduating from the University of North Carolina. She found CrossFit in January 2014 and got her Level 1 certificate in October 2016. For her, CrossFit is not just a way to get incredibly fit, it is a way of life. It creates better people by developing integrity, discipline, and resiliency. Since she was young, she was always involved in sports and loves how CrossFit embodies that same team atmosphere. Every day you are in the box working hard to become a physically and mentally stronger version of yourself with the support of your community.

She enjoys seeing athletes develop a belief in themselves to achieve results they never thought possible and realize that lessons they learn while working out can translate to their everyday lives. In CrossFit, as in life, hard work pays off. Show up, work hard, have fun and you will see yourself grow in ways you never imagined. The Open is her favorite time of year because of its ability to showcase community, to prove the results of a year of hard work, and to produce the motivation that comes from wanting to do better next year. Always believe in yourself!
